William Foster & Co LTD was an agricultural machinery company at Lincoln UK

 

The Company can be traced back to 1846 as William Foster purchased a flour mill in Lincoln. The Mill was then converted to an iron foundry by 1856 which become the original Wellington Foundry. 

 

William Foster was well known for producing threshing machines regarded as among the best available. Also made traction engines, steam tractors such as the Foster Wellington also Showman’s Road Locomotives.

 

Foster’s as builders of agricultural machinery also done prototype design tanks which were in effect agricultural tractors with armoured bodies.
